Company Background
Mattoni 1873 is a company owned by a Swiss-Italian family with headquarters in the Czech Republic, where we have almost 150 years of history. We are the largest central European non-alcoholic beverages producer, and as such, we assume our responsibility for long-term sustainability of the entire beverage industry. We care for our sources and springs so they remain pristine for the next generation. In terms of packaging, we strive for implementation of a centralized deposit system for PET bottles and cans. We see it – together with eco-design and bottle-to-bottle recycling – as one of the pillars of the beverage industry’s circularity.

“Mattoni, together with Czech e-shop Košík.cz, closed the circular loop of PET in the first-ever circular bottle with deposit. The Mattoni PET bottles, which were returned by Košík.cz customers, were recycled into new Mattoni bottles. The full circularity of the process was verified by independent certification experts from GreenCircle Certified. GreenCircle confirmed that the new bottles contain 80% post-consumer recycled PET. Thanks to their precise and transparent approach, GreenCircle verified that each step of our process had the required documentation to meet Closed Loop Product certification requirements. The GreenCircle Closed Loop Product certificate provides a trustworthy certification for closing the PET material loop and serves as an example for the entire market.”
