“Asphalt Systems Inc. (ASI), since its founding more than 40 years ago, has been focused on asphalt preservation. Over a decade ago, ASI committed itself to demonstrating, through the use of credible third parties, that GSB-88® could be proven to be an environmentally responsible and sustainable product. Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) were conducted in accordance with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines, which examined manufacturing activities, procurement of raw materials, performance of the product, excess waste disposal, and recyclability to determine whether our product is truly ‘green’.

The LCAs were done by highly regarded entities, Earth Sure, and later, Cold Stream Consulting. They subjected GSB-88® to a cradle to grave examination in compliance with ISO standards. GSB-88® excelled in all areas of testing and was therefore awarded with several Environmental Product Declarations. ASI sought a further endorsement of the findings by seeking a recognized and well known entity to further validate the findings of the LCA numbers. The GreenCircle Certificate is a sought after symbol of an independent review of the process and findings of all previous LCAs and is not easily given. Working with the analysts at GreenCircle, ASI has been proud to have been awarded and allowed to display the GreenCircle certificate for over nine years.”
